ABOUT BUSES Website

Looking at the models that have been produced by companies such as E.F.E., the Corgi Original Omnibus Company range and more recently, Britbus reveals that the collector of Southdown and Brighton model buses is well catered for. The popularity of the fleets is further supported by some of the high prices that have been paid for some of the models and box sets commanded by these highly popular bus fleets. Certainly the collectors enthusiasm and ever-increasing range of models produced shows no sign of waning.

BATSAboutBuses is dedicated to collating information on the three one-time Brighton-based operators and this site features information about model buses with a Brighton connection.

left: Britbus L003. A fine model of a Southdown Leyland PD2 in 4mm scale. Along with E.F.E. and O.O.C., a good representation of the Southdown fleet can be built up with such highly detailed models. BATSAboutModelBuses gratefully acknowledges Derek Hill for his permission to use this photo. A nearside view of the same model can be seen on the More Photos page.

left: OOC 40404. This extremely rare model of Brighton Corporation A.E.C. Regent /Weymann no. 63 (FUF 63) was a limited edition model with a production run of only 1,000 pieces. Available only by collecting tokens from other OOC models, this model commands high prices and is seldom seen. BATSAboutBuses gratefully acknowledges Trevor Rodway for his permission to use this photo. Of interest, the full-size prototype is preserved.
