Only a handful of representations of the Brighton Corporation Transport fleet have been produced so far, all in 4mm 1/76 scale. In total there have been five different models produced. Firstly two 1939 Weymann-bodied A.E.C. Regents have come from the O.O.C. stable. The first, of no. 63 (FUF 63) was only available through the O.O.C. Collectors Club, limited to a 1,000 production run and is particularly rare, and consequently commands high prices (if you can find someone willing to sell). However it is not all bad news as this model is an early casting and a second model of sister no. 65 (FUF 65) is much easy to obtain and has the addition of side mirrors not found on its elusive sister. Also produced by O.O.C. from the same period is Weymann-bodied B.U.T. 661T trolleybus no. 46 (HUF 46). Complimenting this is a ficticious Brighton Corporation A.E.C. tower wagon. Whilst there was no prototype the model does not look out-of-place with the trolleybus or buses. The modern `blue` era is represented by an E.F.E. Plaxton-bodied Dennis Dart, no. 69 (M69 CYJ) complete with Brighton Blue Bus fleetnames.

CONVERSIONS.  For the skilled modeller there are a number of castings that could be repainted to represent other vehicles with this operator. Certainly the E.F.E. Daimler DMS casting could be repainted to represent produce either no. 91 or 92 with Brighton Borough Transport in the 1980s whilst the Leyland National casting would make an attractive addition. O.O.C. have produced a Leyland Lynx casting that could also be repainted to represent a number of Brighton Borough/Blue Bus prototypes. There has also been castings for the Orion-bodied Leyland PD2 but this would require major surgery involving conversion from to 4-bay bodywork.

Above:  The only `blue` era model produced so far has been this Plaxton Pointer-bodied Dennis Dart by E.F.E. BATSAboutModelBuses gratefully acknowledges allsortsmodels for permission to use this photograph. Visit www.allsortsmodels.com for their current stock of models available to buy.
